1. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how My Insurance Specialist LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit myinsurancespecialist.com, submit a form, book a call, or communicate with us by phone, text, or email. It applies alongside our Terms and Conditions.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer your questions and help you review coverage:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address or zip code.
  • Eligibility details: your date of birth or age range, your Medicare enrollment status, and your household size and income range when you are checking for subsidies or assistance programs.
  • Coverage details: your current plan or carrier, the doctors and pharmacies you want to keep, and your prescriptions, when you choose to share them.
  • Communication records: notes from our calls, your texts and emails with us, and call recordings where applicable.
  • Website data: basic technical information such as your browser type, device, and the pages you viewed.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you fill out a form, book an appointment, call, text, or email us. Automatically, through standard website and analytics tools. And occasionally from the insurance carriers and enrollment platforms we work with, in connection with coverage you have applied for or hold.

4. How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and compare the plans available where you live
  • To check whether you may qualify for programs such as Extra Help or a Medicare Savings Program
  • To submit an application or enrollment on your behalf, with your authorization
  • To contact you by phone, text, or email about your request and your coverage
  • To send appointment confirmations, reminders, and annual review reminders
  • To meet recordkeeping, licensing, carrier, and CMS requirements that apply to insurance agents

5. Mobile information and SMS consent

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we use it to send the messages described in our Terms and Conditions, including conversational replies, appointment reminders, and follow-ups. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop them.

No mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for their own marketing. Information may be disclosed only to the service providers that help us send and deliver our messages, and those providers may use it only to perform that service for us.

6. When we share information

We share your information only where it is needed to do what you asked us to do, or where the law requires it:

  • Insurance carriers, when you apply for or enroll in a plan, so your application can be processed.
  • The insurance marketing organization we work with, including Spark Advisors, for quoting, enrollment, and compliance recordkeeping connected to your coverage.
  • Service providers, such as our scheduling, phone, messaging, and website hosting vendors, under agreements that limit them to performing that service.
  • Regulators and authorities, where required by law, subpoena, or carrier and CMS oversight.

7. We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not provide it to lead buyers, data brokers, or unrelated agencies. We do not share it with other companies so that they can market their own products to you.

8. Health information

To compare plans properly we sometimes need to know about your prescriptions, your doctors, and your general health situation. We treat that information as confidential, use it only to help you evaluate coverage and complete an application, and share it only with the carrier handling that application. Please do not send Social Security numbers, Medicare numbers, or banking details by text or email. We will tell you the secure way to provide anything of that kind.

9. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well. Embedded tools, such as our scheduling calendar, are operated by other companies and set their own cookies under their own policies.

10. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as we are working with you and afterward for the period required by state insurance regulations, carrier agreements, and CMS rules, which commonly runs to ten years for Medicare-related records. After that we delete or destroy it.

11. How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls on the systems that hold client records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your information seriously and limit who can see it.

12. Your choices and rights

  • Texts: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them.
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Calls: tell us during a call, or email us, and we will stop calling.
  • Access, correction, and deletion: contact us and we will provide, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, except where we are required to keep it for regulatory recordkeeping.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law. Opting out of marketing does not affect coverage you already hold or our ability to help you with it.

13. Children's privacy

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. When family coverage involves children, we collect their details from the parent or guardian applying for that coverage.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
